Common Questions
Where is my data stored?
All your journal entries, mood check-ins, and safety plan data are stored locally on your device in a private database. Nothing is sent to our servers. If you uninstall the app, your data is permanently deleted.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings and tap "Export Data." You can export your thought records and mood check-ins as PDF or CSV files. Free users get 3 exports per month; Pro users get unlimited exports.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Open your device's subscription settings to cancel or change your plan. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
What are cognitive distortions?
Cognitive distortions are patterns of thinking that can make you feel worse than the situation warrants. Examples include catastrophizing (assuming the worst), mind reading (assuming you know what others think), and all-or-nothing thinking. Winnow includes 15 distortions with clear explanations and examples to help you identify them.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings and tap "Delete All Data." This permanently removes all thought records, mood check-ins, and settings from your device. You can also simply uninstall the app. Since no data is stored on our servers, uninstalling is a complete deletion.
Does the AI feature send my data to a server?
AI features (distortion suggestions, pattern analysis) are Pro-only and require you to explicitly use them. When activated, only the text of the relevant thought record step is sent — no name, email, or device ID. The data is not stored beyond the request. See our privacy policy for full details.
